Jan Koller attracting Premiership interest

Jan KollerCzech Republic striker Jan Koller is said to be attracting the interest of three Premiership clubs.

The striker is currently playing for Monaco and is considering his future at the club after it’s unlikely the giant forward will be first choice at the Stade Louis this season.

This news is said to have alerted Birmingham, Middlesbrough and Reading who are all reported to be considering making an offer for the 34-year-old.

Mido: I’m leaving Tottenham

Spurs - MidoMido has confirmed that he will definitely leave Tottenham Hotspur during the transfer window, but has not yet made his mind up on who to join.

The 24-year-old confirmed that Sunderland and Birmingham City have made official offers, along with another side but dismissed claims that it could be Fulham because they could not afford his wages.

Birmingham - Steve BruceFor the record Liam Ridgewell headed in a Mcsheffrey free kick in the third minute with his third touch of the ball. The man who has crossed over from the dark side had made two passes, one successful, one not, before opening his Blues account. If ever a player wanted to make a good impression that was the way to do it. He should have added a second ten minutes later when Larsson supplied another free kick but Ridgewell’s header just wide.

Birmingham cancel Ghaly deal

Spurs - Hossam GhalyTottenham Hotspur fans will be left gutted this evening after Birmingham City announced that they have cancelled the transfer of Hossam Ghaly.

The news surrounding the cancellation of the deal so far is short in detail, the only reason given is for “footballing reasons”, whatever that might be. Surely Bruce knew who he has signing and who Ghaly knew who he is signing for.

Peterborough United 0-3 Birmingham City

Birmingham City - Garry OConnorIf anyone needed an introduction to any of Blues new signing then Olivier Kapo and Garry O’Connor certainly let the 4,387 at London Road last night know who they were.

Kapo several times had the crowd gasping in the first half with delicate touches with his sweet left foot. O’Connor may not be a prolific goal scorer but he is a centre forward who has a touch of the Bob Hatton about him and with Jerome’s pace along side him, made up a threatening duo up front.
